"Heat", in a domestic dwelling context, usually means warmed air. Unless air has a compelling reason to circulate throughout your home, then you will typically have rooms or areas within your house which are quite warm and other areas which are quite cool.

Heat Transfer systems work very well with wood heaters and non-ducted "Heat Pumps" (reverse-cycle air conditioners). Typically, these systems effectively only heat "pockets" of the house, so air transfer systems help to more equally distribute the air, particularly to bedrooms, to more uniformly spread the heat.
As air is removed from the heated room, replacement air is drawn from adjacent rooms, creating a natural re-circulation; hence warm, dry air is constantly being circulated throughout the home.

You can control which rooms you want the heat transferred to. The round outlet diffusers can be fully adjusted in each room. If you require more heated air entering one room than another, then simply adjust the diffusers to your requirements. You can also completely shut off a diffuser if you do not wish to deliver the heated air to a particular room (perfect for guest bedrooms).
